The Reel
The Daiwa Saltist SJ 200H Baitcaster Reel is built
specifically for New Zealand anglers looking for a mid sized
baitcaster suited to the harsh saltwater environment. It features a
solid aluminium frame and gear side-plate along with Daiwa’s
advanced Digigear II gear design and the new Air Rotation system.
Daiwa’s UTD drag system gives it the ability to generate heavy drag
pressure while retaining silky smooth line release. An extra-long
power handle and EVA knob provide cranking power, balance, and
control. Ideal for light jigging applications, the Saltist SJ 200H
is a heavy-duty baitcaster in true Daiwa style.

The Rod
An evolution of the popular Generation Black rod series, the new
Daiwa TD Black Pirate 661XHB Overhead Rod has
taken a leap forward in blank design and now features HVF Nanoplus
blank. The introduction of Nano resin to the unidirectional HVF
graphite fibre results in a lighter, more durable blank with
maximum graphite density. Braiding X technology further enhances
rod performance by increasing wall strength and reducing blank
twist. By eliminating twist and preventing the blank from losing
its round form, Braiding X allows a lighter, smaller diameter blank
to be made, and a lighter, more dynamic rod to be created.

Optimum casting and fighting performance are elevated thanks to the
TD Black’s Fuji Alconite K guides. Their lightweight construction
and tangle-free design are tailor-made for braided line, while the
TD Black’s neoprene grips and ergonomically designed reel seats
