technologies to created a rod series that is refined, rugged and
indestructible. This light, super strong and responsive rod will
throw lures up to 300 grams in weight, and handle line up to PE 8.
This is the rod to reach for when you want to punch lures a long
way all day. This rod will handle a host of XOS fish, including
Kingfish, Tuna, Giant Trevally and Amberjack. The Bias Wrap blank
technology incorporated in the Saltist Hyper Rod 82XH means it will
stand up to whatever you throw at it.

made in Japan braid that is soft, supple and strong, and has a
smooth round profile design that wraps neatly and evenly onto the
spool. It has a casting distance complemented by its thin diameter,
but don’t be fooled, strength isn’t compromised with 10lb – 120lb

The Reel
After nearly half a century of reliability the original legend
returns! The new 2016 Daiwa BG16 6500 Spinning
Reel is a heavy-duty super reel that starts with Daiwa’s
legendary Real Four Design formula. An amalgamation of Real Engine,
Real Control, Real Endurance, Real Custom and Real Four gives rise
to spin excellence that is unrivalled in design, performance and
quality.
The Rod
The Daiwa Saltist Hyper Rod has everything you
need in a rod – cutting-edge design, advanced technology, strength
and reliability. The rugged blank features HVF carbon; Daiwa’s low
resin, high strength, reduced weight and high-density carbon to get
rid of unwanted weight, yet loaded with all the power.
Fuji reel seats create an immovable fusion between rod and reel
it’s like you glued them together. Fuji O Concept guides offer
360-degree protection from bumps, hits and dings; reduces guide
draw, twist bend and weight resulting in a more responsive rod.
What’s more, the ultra tough EVA grip puts the power in your hands
to battle the toughest fish, while offering you the comfort to use
all day long. Power, strength, lightness and integrity are the
hallmarks of this rod.
Drawing a Blank
The foundation of all good rods is the blank, and the Hyper Saltist
is no exception and utilises some of Daiwa’s most advanced blank
technologies to created a rod series that is refined, rugged and
indestructible. Utilising HVF carbon, Daiwa’s low resin, high
strength, reduced weight, high-density carbon the result is a range
that is stripped of unwanted weight, yet loaded with all the power
that you need. More muscle and less fat is the name of the game in
the new Saltist Hyper range.
Glatech construction features in many of the models in the range
and incorporates uni-directional fibreglass sandwiched between 90
degree inner and outer layers graphite. The result is an incredibly
resilient blank, with backbone and lifting power to control and
lead strong fish.
Daiwa’s legendary Bias Wrap construction also plays a major role in
the series (64CJ, 72MH, 792H, 82XH, 962XHS, 962XHB), with the cross
directional blank wrapping method eliminating unwanted rod twist
and distortion when under load. The process creates a blank with
less weight and more strength.
Power, strength, lightness and uncompromising blank integrity are
the hallmarks of the Saltist Hyper range.
Take a Seat
A great blank needs a great seat, and the Saltist reel seats are
the perfect combination of strength and style. Rock solid Fuji reel
seats create an immovable fusion between rod and reel, with a
locking ring on the seat anchoring the two together eliminating any
chance of reel movement or slippage.
Guided onto Fish
Fuji will guide you and your new Saltist onto fish with their O
Concept guides, a new deep-pressed frame technology, offering
360-degree protection from bumps, hits and dings. The O Concept
also reduces guide draw, twist and bend and weight, resulting in a
more responsive rod.
Chrome in colour and contrasting strikingly with black guide
bindings, they complete the classic blue, black and white stylings
and ensure that the Saltist Hyper look as good as they fish.
Comfort and Class
Long hard days offshore call for a comfortable rod and in the hand
is where the ultimate test of comfort is made, and the ultra tough
EVA grips on the new Saltist are as comfortable and rugged as they
come.
Smooth, ergonomically friendly, classic black EVA grips put the
power in your hands to battle the toughest fish, while offer you
the comfort to use all day long.
Classic in style, and advanced in design, function and
application, the Saltist Hyper range offers diversity, strength and
exceptional value like few offshore rod series have before.
The Line
When your battleground is the ocean and it’s just you against a
monster fish, there’s no margin for compromise, especially with
bragging rights on the line!
Introducing Daiwa X8 J-Braid Multi-Colour 300m
80lb, a line that is soft, supple, strong, and made in
Japan. Every fisho knows that supreme line management is critical
for longer casts with fewer knots. J-Braid PE accomplishes this
because of its smooth, round profile design that wraps neatly and
evenly onto the reel spool.
The Daiwa X8 J-Braid is perfectly suited for spin
and overhead reels, is available in bulk spools, and is colourfast.
The multi-coloured version is metred in 10, 5, and 1-metre
increments making it ideal for offshore applications like jigging
and popping.
The Daiwa X8 J-Braid’s casting distance is
complemented by its thin diameter, but don’t be fooled! Despite
being thin it’s super strong and the multi-coloured J-Braid
offering is available in 10lb-120lb breaking strains, which means
strength isn’t compromised and it displays ultimate abrasion
resistance for your added confidence.
Daiwa X8 J-Braid is designed to deliver strength
and performance in perfect harmony.
